VLC Media Player Chrome Extension

We've created a new way to bring movies, music, and live streams to your device. It lets you open any video file or stream, including video from YouTube, Netflix, VEVO, Vimeo, Instagram, and other services, right within the VLC (VideoLAN) Media Player.

Video files in the Chrome extension

All video files are stored in the local storage of your device and you can view them on any computer you have. Video files in the extension are available in MP4, MP3, AAC, and more. They work in all major browsers and Android devices.

Streams in the Chrome extension

We also support streams from popular video sites like YouTube, and Twitch. We're also working on adding more video services, but that's not something we can do in the current version.

How can I install the extension?

You can download it for free from our website. Once you do, you can immediately open all videos with VLC Media Player. You can also add videos to your list, and view and manage them with the media player, or with our app.
